TMT bars: picking diameters for real Nepal sites
From 8 mm stirrups to 32 mm heavy picks—how we think about bar schedules, laps, and what to confirm before the pour.

TMT is the backbone of most frames we supply: diameters from 8 mm up to 32 mm cover stirrups, slabs, columns, and heavy joints. The right choice is never “whatever was cheapest last project”—it’s what your structural drawing and code exposure class ask for, with a little headroom for tying and wastage.
On busy sites, mix-ups happen when bundles aren’t tagged by diameter and mill. We recommend heat or batch notes on your delivery docket, and a quick visual check before the cage goes in—wrong bar in the wrong layer is expensive to fix after pour.
When your schedule calls for odd lots or a tight monsoon window, ring the desk with the BOQ line items: diameter, grade preference, and site location. Our line card lists the range; availability by grade and length is confirmed against stock and incoming trucks.
